Tigers defeat Intrepides 5-2

The Lac St Louis Tigers traveled to Gatineau , Quebec tonight to take on the Outaouais Intrepides in game 10 of the round robin tournament.

The Tigers and Intrepides had just met on Sunday afternoon at the Jeux Du Quebec and the spirit from that competition was very much at the forefront of this contest.

The Intrepides took a 1-0 lead early in the second period. The Tigers replied with a tremendous individual effort from captain Nick Impellizzeri. Then, the Tigers took a 2-1 lead minutes later when Stefano Momesso hit the mark.

The Intrepides came right back and tied the score within 30 seconds of the Tigers second goal. But, Phil DiGiacomo set up Sam Filion for the go ahead goal.

Then, Stefano Momesso added his second goal of the game to give the Tigers a 4-2 lead.

Late in the third, Michael Davila scored an empty net goal on an assist from Timmy Daigneault.

Fabio Colias was the winning goaltender.

The Tigers, with the win over the Intrepides, improve their record to 7-3 in the round robin and are tied for second place with the Lac St Louis Predateurs.

The Tigers play their next game against the Nationals de Montreal on Saturday March 14th at the Complexe Sportif Saint Raphael in Ile Bizard at 16h00.
