Rougeau Commits to Cornell

Former Lac St Louis Tigers Laurianne Rougeau has committed to Cornell University for the 2009-2010 academic year. Laurianne who was a member of the 2005-2006 Tigers, has gone on to have a tremendous hockey career including stints with the U-18 Quebec teams that won silver at the Canada Games and Nationals, Laurianne served as captain of the U-18 Team Canada in the inaugural U-18 World Challenge, and has represented Canada on the U-22 team and patrols the blueline for the Dawson Blues of the Quebec Cegep league.

" Laurianne is one of those players that comes along every once and a while, she is an exceptionally intelligent defenseman, she does an excellent job of taking away good ice from the attacker, one on one she displays textbook know how, offensively very sound, just a top notch athlete," says Chris Sides Lac St Louis Tigers General Manager.

" Laurianne is the only girl to suit up for the Tigers, she's the only one that has tried out as well, she played on a very talented team...our defense that year Southorn (playing for the PEI Rocket and drafted by Buffalo), Dame Malka (playing for Acadie Bathurst of Quebec Major), Blunden (St Andrews College), Shine ( St. Paul's), Vlasic (McGill) and Laurianne...," said Sides.
